Regulations, recycling policy and platform terms
This page summarises the official waste disposal regulations, the PlasticTrack recycling policy and the platform usage terms in one place for transparency. Last updated: October 2026.
Segregation at source is mandatory: household waste must be separated into wet (organic), dry (recyclable, including plastic) and domestic hazardous streams before handover.
Plastic waste must never be mixed with wet waste, littered in public spaces, dumped in water bodies, or burnt in the open.
Use the notified community plastic collection points and PlasticTrack bins for clean, dry plastic packaging waste.
Producers, importers and brand owners carry Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for the plastic packaging they place on the market, including collection and recycling targets.
Violations of littering, burning or open-dumping rules can attract environmental compensation and municipal fines under the applicable solid waste management rules.
For official gazette copies of the rules and municipal bye-laws, contact your municipal corporation office or the district pollution control board.
PlasticTrack accepts clean, dry plastic packaging: PET bottles, HDPE containers, LDPE films and wraps, PP containers, PS items and other labelled plastics.
Rinse and dry containers before dropping — contaminated or soiled plastic can be rejected at collection and earns no points.
Points are earned per gram of plastic deposited at a QR-coded bin and are credited only after Team PlasticTrack confirms the bin collection.
Collected plastic is routed to authorised Material Recovery Facilities and recyclers; the journey status of each deposit (deposited, collected, processing, recycled) is visible to the citizen.
Multilayer and non-recyclable plastic is stored and disposed of through authorised co-processing or energy-recovery channels, never through open dumping.
Platform reward formulas, points values and redemption options are admin-configured and may be revised; changes apply prospectively.
Accounts are personal: citizens, shops and officials each access only their own data, and role-based dashboards are restricted to their assigned jurisdiction.
Points have no cash value and are not transferable between accounts; fraud, duplicate or false drops, and attempts to game the reward system lead to point forfeiture and account suspension.
The platform records transaction metadata (timestamps, bin, product, GPS where permitted) to verify deposits and prevent misuse.
Personal data is handled per the platform privacy policy and applicable data protection law; it is never sold to third parties.
Waste manager, executive, department and partner dashboards are provided for official monitoring use and all activity is audit-logged.
These terms and policies are reviewed periodically; continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
